Initial jobless claims in the US rose slightly to 352k in the week ending April 13 from 348k the prior week and the four-week moving average rose to 361k from 359k the prior week.  The Department of Labor said that California and Kentucky were estimated but gave no clear reason.  This is now the fourth consecutive weekly rise in the 4wma after four straight previous declines.
